HOWto events are Hands-On Workshops to help you learn the nuts and bolts of key tools and tactics in getting a job.  The workshops are small so you can get practical, individualized help from our volunteers.

HOWto WordPress will help you get your own personal web site up and running quickly, easily -- and without needing to know computer code!

1)  YOU MUST HAVE A WORDPRESS ACCOUNT SET UP BEFORE THE WORKSHOP.

If you don't have one already, head over to http://wordpress.com/ and sign up.  It's free and will only take a moment.  If you're not sure what you want to call your site, that's OK -- just use your name (or some version of it).  You can always change it later, and you won't lose any of the work you do on your site in the meantime.

Make sure you know your login information when you come to the workshop!

2)  YOU MUST BRING A WIFI-ENABLED LAPTOP TO PARTICIPATE.

Since this is a hands-on event, you will need a laptop with you to work on - we won't have extras available.  If you don't have a laptop, borrow one - but please make sure you know how to access a WIFI network with it!  

If you haven't connected to the network at Gangplank before, please arrive 15 minutes early to get your connection established so we don't have to make everyone else wait for you before we can begin the workshop.

3)  Please bring your resume (.PDF) and picture (.JPEG or .PNG)

Uploading these file types will be covered in detail.
